Paracord (from paracord or parachute cord) is a lightweight polymer cord originally developed for parachute suspension lines. It consists of an outer sheath (braided cover) made of many interwoven strands and an inner core, usually multi-stranded. It is primarily made of nylon, which provides strength, elasticity, and abrasion resistance.
